My Wish List
What the heck is this, you ask? I guess knitters and crocheters out there would know…
Here’s one item on my wish list (probably the least expensive, too!)
That’s a yarn winder! You see, yarn comes in hanks and well, other ways (like a ball). Technically, you would turn the hanks into balls ‘o yarn so that it would be easier to knit with. Those that already comes in a somewhat-looking ball (you know what I mean), you can either keep it as it is, or be hardworking enough to handwind them into balls like the above.
For me, I have been keeping my somewhat looking balls the way they came (from the store, that is). I handwind the hanks into balls (takes a hell lotta time, I tell you) for storage. But, being so back into knitting and crocheting these days, I wished I had a yarn winder like this one to turn all the somewhat-looking balls into a center-pulling ball where it would be so much easier (and neater) to knit. I don’t know about other knitters out there, but I could never find the middle pully no matter how hard I try. And by the time I actually find it, the middles (like innerts, if you may) are already in a mess of yarn which I would have to take time to sort out. I admit, I’m a messy knitter. And seriously, there’s nothing much I can do about it because in general, I’m not exactly the most organized person in the world!
So, I guess this yarn winder will do me a lot of good. Found one on eBay that I’m still thinking about (coz it’s actually quite costly to ship). Retail price for this item is about USD34.00. Hey, why is everything about USD34.00 today! Maybe I should go buy the lottery.
3-4-0-0. *giggles* I think I will likely get it since I will make good use of it anyway. I think. I hope.

On crafts in Malaysia
My wish list (currently in my head) just keeps getting longer and longer by the day! As I happily crochet my shrug, I keep telling myself that “This is IT. No more YARNS (or gadgets).” Unfortunately, knitting and crocheting with good yarn (soft cottons, wool, baby wool, mohair, stuff like that) in Malaysia takes a good chunk out of the ole pocket. Parts and accessories are expensive too. But when I am in my craft mood, yes, I don’t hesitate and I actually DO spend the money.
This shrug I’m working on is easily gonna cost me somewhere in the likes of USD34.00. Doesn’t sound like much for someone who lives in North America, but for me who have since come home, it is quite a bit of money.
I mean, for USD34.00 I could easily get a pair of pants and a top here. Some of my friends wonder why I even bother to make my own stuff. Well, I honestly can’t exclaim to have made a lot of “wearable stuff”, partially because I lose my mood halfway and it gets chucked aside. My ex-colleague, JR once told me that “…handmade goods gives out a certain vibe.” I had knitted, for her baby (then), in year 2000, a pair of booties, mittens and a scarf. I don’t know! I guess it’s just a hobby for me. I love artsy stuff. Hmm, I must have those pictures somewhere.
Will post if I find it (ever).
Anyway, I will post on my wish list and add on to it as I see more stuff that I wished I had, or am saving up to actually have it.
Just for fun.
Maybe it will ignite my senses and make me do something about it, like, selling the hoards of stuff I already own (but don’t use) to benefit someone who might actually have a good use for it. Look out eBay, here I come!
Yes, Hello World!
Ah yes, I’m back to the blogging world. After bouts with first Blogspot and then Multiply, I decided I needed something new to sort of like “start afresh”. So, I looked around and hey, WordPress has pretty themes that I like. I particularly like this one depicting Fall, one of my favorite seasons while I was in the US. I don’t know, it gives me a pleasant feeling. I guess this feeling is good enough for me to want to pick it to be my theme.
What have I been up to recently? On the work front, hell busy. Hahaa! However, the project that I’ve been working on has gone into roll-out, so I’m pretty free these days (which is good after a few months of stress). Personal front, well, whatdya expect??
Nothing much has changed (except age and probably the horizontal front), still living at home with the folks (that I enjoy, really… ok, most of the time), my little baby is turning 6 next month (I keep insisting she’s just turning 2, mom was a little bit more “factual”, she said “three-lah“. =D Will post MiMi’s pictures here sometime soon.
Why did I come back to blogging you ask? Well, MF wrote me an email that day and said that it looks like every time I write her an email I have a new hobby, and asked me what was next. So I thought, hey, why not post what I’ve been doing with my craft works (which has recently and rather interestingly looking close to actually being a finished product) and who knows, I could get more motivated to actually FINISH what I had started (which is plenty, I tell you). I am hoping that by posting pictures of my half-done projects I would actually be embarassed enough to finish it up. Hmmm. That’s a thought. I did some digging and found some very interesting craft blogs with stuff absolutely to die for, and it really got me back into knitting and crocheting (amongst other things) again. Neat.
Besides my renewed interest in blogging, I’m addicted to Facebook (well, probably 90% of you are, too). It’s all Gloria’s (cousin) fault I tell you!
But it is fun, really, with all the applications. A lot of fun things to do there.
Oh well, this was just supposed to be a short Hello to the Blog World out there but I rambled on and on. Ha. You guys got to get used to this.
Thou be forewarned: Little Ole Me will ramble.
